Collo Privacy Policy
Effective September 28, 2026
Collo is a RAW photo developer made by Alexander Creative. This page says what the app does with your data. The short version: nothing leaves your device unless you set that up yourself.
No account, no tracking
Collo has no sign-in, no analytics, no ads and no tracking of any kind. The app sends us nothing: no usage data, no crash reports, no device identifiers. There is no Collo server.
Your photos stay on your device
Collo opens the RAW files you choose and renders them on the device. It never uploads your photos, and it never modifies your originals. Edits are stored as small sidecar files next to the RAW on the Mac (or in Collo's own storage when that folder can't be written), and inside Collo's own storage on iPad and iPhone.
Your profiles, looks and styles
On the Mac, Collo reads the camera profiles that Lightroom and Capture One install, in place. Your own Camera Raw looks folder and Capture One styles folder are private to your account, so Collo asks once for permission to read them (you can change this under Collo, Library Access). It never copies or sends any of these files anywhere. On iPad and iPhone you import them yourself from a folder you pick. Collo ships none of these files.
Bria: optional, off by default
AI Remove and generative Expand run on your device. If you add your own Bria API key in Collo's settings, those two tools use Bria's cloud model instead. When Bria is on:
- Remove sends only the area you brushed to Bria's servers.
- Expand sends a downscaled copy of the photo so Bria can extend it.
- Bria handles that data under its own privacy policy (bria.ai). We never see it.
- Your key is stored in your device's Keychain and is sent only to Bria.
Delete the key and Collo is back to on-device only. None of this is on unless you add a key.
Favorites sync
The looks you mark as favorites sync between your own devices through iCloud Key-Value Storage, under your Apple account and Apple's privacy policy. That is the only thing Collo syncs. No photos, edits, profiles or keys go through iCloud.
What we do receive
If you email support, we get your email address and whatever you send. We use it to reply, and we keep it only as long as the conversation needs.
Children
Collo is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. A material change (for example a new way data could leave the device) will also be called out in the app's release notes.
